VALUE-BEHAVIORS DYNAMICS IN GARMENT LIFECYCLES (AMFI’26)
Your wardrobe is not just storage. It’s a system of value.
Some garments are worn on repeat.
Some are carefully maintained.
Some are forgotten.
Some are impossible to let go.
Clothes carry more than material, they carry function, identity, memory, aspiration. And these meanings shift over time. As value changes, so do our behaviors: we care, repair, neglect, replace.
This project explores that evolving relationship between perceived value and garment-related behavior. Not to judge or optimise, but to make it visible.
Through a design-led, visual framework and reflective prototype, we reveal how garments move through our lives, and how we move with them. Citizens are not just data providers, but reflective contributors who gain insight into their own wardrobe systems. Because if we want to understand clothing lifecycles, we must also understand the value we attach to them.
This is not a tool for correction. It’s a lens for awareness.
