Launch of Transition Makers Toolbox
On June 27th, we joined a festive celebration with our partners for the launch of the Transition Makers Toolbox – an initiative aimed at giving teachers the right tools to empower their students to tackle complex societal challenges. As Digital Society School, we were happy and honoured to have our Instruments team build a website for this project and support the partners throughout the process.
What is Transition Makers Toolbox?
Current and future generations of students are leading the transition towards a more sustainable future for all and require the right skills to push the transformation forward. With the learning activities based on 23 skills and qualities of human growth and inner development, the Transition Makers Toolbox guides teachers and educators in bringing these skills to the classrooms. As a result, they can implore the activities that aid in the development of the mindset and skillset of the students to face change opportunistically and courageously.
Teachers get access to a variety of learning activities and assessment methods that assist their students with thinking outside of the box and coming up with innovative solutions that drive societal change. From Positive Reframing to Navigating Uncertainty, these ready-made teaching materials are there to support you as a teacher in bringing the transformative skills from the Inner Development Goals framework closer to the students.
This toolbox was created in collaboration between the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (IIS) at the University of Amsterdam and the alliance of Technical University Eindhoven, Wageningen University & Research, Utrecht University and University Medical Centre Utrecht (EWUU), supported by the Teaching & Learning Centre of the University of Amsterdam and Liberal Arts and Sciences and University College Utrecht at Utrecht University.
We look forward to continuing our work together and further implementing new features to the website. Let’s build a better world together!
