Project

SportyVerse

You run, swim, go to the gym, are on a diet, and attend tournaments. But what about mental health? Have you ever wondered how this was all possible beyond your willpower? It is not only about tracking your health, but It is also not just about booking tickets for a match. It is not just about subscription to a sports facility. There is a lot of research and brainpower in the background of these activities before any sports reaches the end user. Our team is one such group that will be the brainpower behind making your day healthy!

Being an employee of any university can be demanding if you don’t take care of your mental health. With technological advancement and the brainpower of our team, we can harness the power of the metaverse platform called CoVince to enhance your meeting experience efficiently and create a productive working environment.

In envisioning the future of Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS), we embark on a transformative journey to empower employees with a groundbreaking metaverse platform.

Our mission is to revolutionise workplace well-being by seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology and holistic, mindful practices. With the catchphrase ‘‘Make your day healthy,” our platform fosters a culture of self-care amidst the demanding work environment. By incorporating a Pomodoro setting and offering personalised break tips, including visits to the Metaverse mindful garden for meditation and breathing exercises and suggestions to get some fresh air outside alone or sending invitations to colleagues, we aim to enhance employee resilience. This initiative prioritises health and cultivates a thriving community, ensuring AUAS employees flourish in both professional and personal spheres.

Maker's Sprint

To begin the project, we wanted to talk to our partners and understand what they actually need. After several brainstorming we came up with an idea to make a pyramid that will help us start a conversation with them about our challenge.

Sprint 1

This sprint started with a lot of questions. What is the meaning of sports and why do people do sports? One of our first steps taken was to understand the project by presenting our findings to our partners and have a conversation with them to get a clear direction on how to proceed further.

Sprint 2

The goal of this sprint was to test out the results of our research with the user group. So, we aimed to create three different scenarios based on the importance given to the four concepts by our partners.

Sprint 3

With the results of the sprint 2, it was time to prototype. For this, we created a scenario by making a morphological chart with features and optimal steps that could be followed. Our concept for the prototype was inspired from tamagotchi. Only difference here is that our platform would be designed to enhance your work day!

Sprint 4

This sprint was all about challenges and we definitely faced a few. We had to go back to our research and properly ground our findings to our concept to align with our stakeholders and user needs. Our goal of this sprint was to formulate a list of must-haves and won't-haves in the future and think of the feasibility and build a digital prototype to test with users in the next sprint.

Sprint 5

After trying and testing multiple alternatives, we concluded on one user friendly design of the platform based on user needs and stakeholder requirements.
