Turn apocalypse fatigue into positive action to face the Climate Crisis
The impacts of climate change seem to be far away from our daily lives: the press repeats over and over the same cli-fi scenarios, where coastlines are flooded by devastating storms and the doomsday clock ticks out every day a different animal species. This can lead to something called “apocalypse fatigue”: when the problem is presented out of human scale, even the ones that are well-intentioned in seeking solutions may start to throw in the towel.
To address this language issue, last semester team Climacated (together with our partners Climate Cleanup and Visual Methodologies Collective) looked at leading experts in the Climate Crisis, by using digital methods of research to create a handcrafted dataset of their common messages. How should we think, speak and act to better face the challenges of climate change?
